critical & Speculative Design

A speculative spatial design proposal for a space that critically addresses the interconnectedness of the luxury escort industry and wood telling and importation business in Spain. It imagines a satirical environment in which controversial aspects of both industries are amplified, hoping to problematize unethical practices and open up spaces of interrogation.
This series of visual collages problematizes the fetishization of sex workers and the exploitation of natural resources, placing them in a space that enhances their “otherness” as a means of critiquing broader cultural narratives and problematic systems that reinforce the abuse imposed on both subjects.
The process of designing this project consisted of an in-depth and rigorous research process, resulting in the creation of a visual diagram synthesizing the interconnected and critical points of both industries. Through this diagram, we were able to craft a thought-provoking narrative, which we later materialized and problematized by designing a 3D model of the space, presented through the series of collages.
