Social and participatory design
Espacio Común is a social design project developed within the framework of the “Semana de la Proximidad”, an initiative by Foro NESI aimed at raising awareness about the importance of strengthening neighborhood life. Espacio Común brings locals out into the streets of the neighborhood, encouraging spontaneous interactions and using participatory design as a tool to stimulate dialogue and empower the local community, proposing a critical reflection on the ways in which we relate to public space.
The project outcomes and insights were presented at the Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño 2025, Madrid Design Festival 2026, and a second edition of the initiative was implemented at the Mayrit Bienal 2026.
